About the Artists:
Salar Nader – A standout artist of his generation, tabla virtuoso Salar Nader is recognized as a global ambassador weaving South Asian arts into the musical traditions of his Afghanistan heritage.
A percussionist, composer, and producer, Salar has studied under Ustad Zakir Hussain since the age of seven. He has toured widely with Stanley Clarke, Kronos Quartet, Wu Man, Miles From India, and Third Coast Percussion; Central Asian master musicians Homayoun Sakhi and Abbos Kosimov; and legendary Indian classical musicians including Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Rahul Sharma, and many others. He has performed and recorded with contemporary & electronic artists including Cheb i Sabbah, Niyaz, and Grand Tapestry. Nader scored the original stage adaptation of Khaled Hosseini’s best-selling novel “The Kite Runner,” which had a groundbreaking run on Broadway in 2022 and national tour in 2024, presented in San Jose by EnActe Arts and Hammer Theatre. In early 2025, Salar premiered and toured Zakir Hussain’s “Murmurs in Time” with Third Coast Percussion, for whom the piece was written. Salar continues his dedication to community engagement, workshops, and cross-cultural understanding.
Mizuho Sato – is a celebrated flamenco dancer, choreographer, and educator.
Born in Iwate, Japan, she trained in ballet before discovering flamenco in Tokyo, later studying with masters in Spain. Her career spans global stages, film, and media, including Puss in Boots and Madonna’s La Isla Bonita tour video. Now based in the Bay Area, she founded the Mizuho Sato Flamenco Company, blending tradition with innovation. A dynamic performer, teacher, and artist, she continues to push flamenco’s boundaries, inspiring audiences with her passion and cross-cultural approach.
Alfredo Cáceres – is a Guatemalan guitarist, composer & recording artist.
Cáceres has been involved in a wide variety of projects ranging from world music, flamenco, Jazz, Brazilian, Salsa and Pop. Cáceres was a Latin Grammy Winner in 2022 with the album “Tinto Tango plays Piazzolla”. He has collaborated with many noteworthy artists including virtuoso Guitarist Jorge Strunz (Strunz & Farah), the French Gypsy singer from the Gipsy Kings Family George Reyes & Mario Reyes, Spanish singer Enrique Bunbury and Algerian singer Khaled to mention a few.
