With that in mind, we hope to find qualified and dedicated candidates with both technical and creative skillsets to help us build and present high quality theatre. Production Positions

Programming and Production Manager

Title: Programming and Production Manager

Company: EnActe Arts

Status: Full-time (Exempt)

Industry: Performing Arts and Arts Education

Location: Silicon Valley, California.

Nature of Position: In-person (minimum 4 days per week)

Start date: July 1st, 2023

Salary Range: $65,000 per year.

Summary:

EnActe Arts is seeking a Programming and Production Manager to oversee the organization’s programming and production schedule, manage production staff, and collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth execution of all productions and events. The successful candidate will have a passion for theater and the arts, as well as experience in theater production and management.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the organization’s programming and production schedule, including coordinating with collaborators, playwrights, directors, and actors
  • Issue all production related contracts, maintain a calendar of payments and work with finance to ensure that all payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth execution of all productions and events, including coordinating with marketing and sales staff to promote productions and events
  • Manage production staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Coordinate with technical staff to ensure all production and technical needs are met, including lighting, sound, and set design
  • Collaborate with the Artistic Director to develop and manage production budgets
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of EnActe Arts’ programs, productions, and impact to effectively communicate the organization’s mission and values to stakeholders
  • Ensure all productions and events comply with relevant laws and regulations, including health and safety guidelines and intellectual property rights
  • Manage relationships with venues, vendors, and other external partners to ensure successful production and execution of all productions and events
  • Continuously evaluate and improve production processes and workflows to ensure efficiency and effectiveness

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in theater, arts management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in theater production and management, preferably in a non-profit or arts organization
  • Experience managing and supervising staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with technical aspects of theater production, including lighting, sound, and set design
  • Knowledge of theater production budgets and financial management
  • Passion for theater and the arts, and a commitment to promoting diversity and social awareness through the arts

Costume Designer for A Nice Indian Boy

The performance will take place in Juneau, Alaska.

Perseverance Theatre in collaboration with EnActe Arts is currently seeking an experienced costume designer for A Nice Indian Boy, written by Madhuri Shekar, and directed by Vinita Belani.

The ideal candidate will preferably have experience with contemporary and classical South Asian fashion. However, this is not required.

It is required that the designer be able to travel to Juneau, Alaska for the duration of the production.

The pay for this position is $1750. Housing and travel will be provided.

The dates for the production are as follows (the costume designer will only be called when needed and federal holidays will be observed):

Costume Designer Juneau Residency: October 24 – December 17, 2023

Prelim Costume Design Due: August 20, 2023

Final Costume Design Due: September 17, 2023

Costume Look for Marketing Shoot Due: October 22, 2023

Stage Manager for A Nice Indian Boy

The performance will take place in Juneau, Alaska.

Perseverance Theatre in collaboration with EnActe Arts is currently seeking an experienced stage manager for A Nice Indian Boy, written by Madhuri Shekar and directed by Vinita Belani.

The ideal candidate will preferably have at least three years of experience as a professional stage manger.

The stage manager must be able to travel to Juneau, Alaska for the duration of the rehearsals and run of the show. Housing and transportation to and from the theater once in Alaska will be provided.  

The pay for this position is $450 a week for seven weeks. Housing and travel will be provided.

The dates for the production are as follows (federal holidays are observed):

First Rehearsal: October 24, 2023    

Start of Tech: November 24, 2023

Opening: December 1, 2023             

Closing: December 17, 2023

Part-Time Teachers/Educators of Drama

Do you have any experience with film & theatre? Are you a college student or a recent college graduate looking to enter the teaching and/or dramatic arts workforce? Are you a highly experienced teacher of drama looking for a few extra hours of work per week?

EnActe School of Drama (ESoD) is currently accepting applications for Teaching Artists for our elementary, middle, and high school programs. We will be hiring an array
of Teachers/Educators from multiple disciplines such as: Acting, Creative Writing, Directing, Film, Production, etc.

Classes begin in late August and will be in person throughout the San Jose/Silicon Valley area between the hours of 3:45pm-6pm. You must have reliable transportation. Our sessions are in 6- 10 week increments and we run our programs year-round.

ESoD offers a wide range of courses that are designed for students of all levels. We implement classic theatrical training in all of our curriculum to: uplift students’ confidence, increase their ability to speak publicly, and connect with their emotions.

Summary:

EnActe Arts is seeking an experienced Sales and Advancement Director to develop and implement sales strategies and fundraising initiatives for the organization. The successful candidate will have a passion for the performing arts, as well as a proven track record in sales, marketing and fundraising.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies and marketing plans to drive revenue growth and increase brand awareness
  • Identify new sales channels and revenue streams to expand EnActe Arts’ reach and impact
  • Work with the Artistic Director to develop and execute fundraising campaigns and grant proposals
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners to build long-term partnerships and increase support for EnActe Arts
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of EnActe Arts’ programs, productions, and impact to effectively communicate the organization’s mission and values to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and coordination of sales and fundraising efforts with programming and production needs
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales, fundraising, and marketing activities to the Artistic Director and Board of Directors
  • Manage the sales and advancement team, including hiring, training, and performance management

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, arts administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, and/or fundraising, preferably in the arts or non-profit sector
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and fundraising targets and driving revenue growth
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present to diverse audiences
  • Experience managing and mentoring staff
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices, including grant writing and donor stewardship
  • Familiarity with marketing and sales tools and techniques, including social media, email marketing, and direct mail campaigns
  • Passion for the performing arts and a commitment to promoting diversity and social awareness through the arts
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and marketing plans to drive ticket sales, revenue growth and increase brand awareness
